Melingva is operated by the individual identified in our Legal Notice . We are the data controller for all personal data collected through melingva.com and the Melingva application.

2. Data we collect
We collect only what is necessary to provide the service:
Account data
Email address, first and last name, hashed password. Collected when you register.
Learning data
Words seen, review intervals, session history, and vocabulary progression. This is the core data that powers your spaced repetition schedule.
Billing data
Subscription status and payment reference (e.g. Stripe payment ID). We do not store card numbers or any payment instrument details.
3. Why we collect it
Providing the service
Running your learning sessions, calculating your spaced repetition schedule, and saving your progress. Legal basis: performance of a contract.
Billing and subscriptions
Managing your subscription, issuing invoices, and processing refunds. Legal basis: performance of a contract.
Security and fraud prevention
Detecting and preventing abuse. Legal basis: legitimate interest.
Legal obligations
Retaining billing records as required by French accounting law. Legal basis: legal obligation.
4. Data retention
Account and learning data are kept for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your personal data is deleted within 30 days. Billing records are retained for 10 years as required by French accounting law.
6. Your rights
Under the General Data Protection Regulation, you have the right to:
- Access a copy of the data we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate data
- Delete your account and associated data
- Restrict or object to processing
- Receive your data in a portable format
- Lodge a complaint with the CNIL at cnil.fr
